The function of an actor :

The talent of a good singer is measured by the extent to which they can seduce their audiences into singing with them,a good actor should measure his performance to the extent he can engage his audience and gain the reaction to an issue that is dramatized. Each of his presentation should express a doubt, each action should contain negotiation, each phase should leave a possibility of saying the opposite of what is being said. He should strive to create alternative realities for its target audience, then encourage his audience to intervene by stopping the scene at any point, physically taking on the role of the protagonist, and then acting out alternative actions that might lead to better outcomes. Through this vital participation, audiences become ‘spect-actors’.
He then leads a discussion among the audience to assess these alternative solutions. An actor should, activate passive audiences and provides them with theatre space as a rehearsal for dealing with obstacles and oppressions in real life. He should be dialectical, though actor and spect-actor represent a different way of viewing the issue,he should neither be too firm nor too vulnerable, must feel no fear.
Actor should be open to pedagogy as one learns by teaching others.

  1. That sounds like the actor needs to be an over-actor, always being able to switch between his role and the bird perspective. plus he needs to be a moderator and mediator. I wonder if all these jobs don't hinder the actor to dive deep into his role.

  2. I am sure forum theatre actors undergo special training. The sort that will enable them to juggle the various roles without hindering their artistic expression and flow.
