  6. @Evan: It confused me as well. But I did not risk changing the statement given on the website.
    Very few websites gave a clear number.

    It is an old data though.
    But I personally think that it is 70% woman sex workers.

  9. Aishwarya, I think if you questioned the statement given on the website, you might have found more information from various sources and put up your finding of the statistic rather than taking it straight from the one website...

  10. Yes. One of the other data I found was:

    Of the 600,000-800,000 people trafficked across international borders each year, 70 percent are female and 50 percent are children. The majority of these victims are forced into the commercial sex trade.

    But this is an international data and not about India in specific.
